I would like to draw your attention to the fact that other programmes (not depending on the CNRS) exist, and are often less competitive.Below, the example of the FSMP (in French) which concerns 3 months invitations (like the potes rouges) in Parisian universities (Dauphine (Paris 9), University of Paris (formerly Paris 5,7), Sorbonne University (formerly Paris 6), University Sorbonne Paris Nord (Paris 13), University Paris 1).
The University of Paris Saclay (formerly Orsay) also offers a similar programme supported by the FMJH.
Many provincial universities also offer other programmes.
Do not hesitate to spread this information (at least for FSMP) to your researchers who wish to spend 3 months in France.
