>> INSMI is launching its “Postes Rouges 2026” campaign. As you may recall, this is an opportunity to welcome foreign academics and researchers to our units in France (UMR andFederation(FR) labs).

>> As a foreword, and for your information, here is a review of the campaign of positions in 2025, which was particularly dynamic with 66 applications received (including 4 that were inadmissible because they were submitted by or for non-INSMI units). 55 men and 7 women applied. The 20 positions for 2025 were awarded to 17 men and 3 women. The geographical origin of the applicants was as follows: 10 from Europe (EU and non-EU); 6 from the Americas; 2 from Asia, 1 from Africa and 1 from Oceania. 10 are professors, 8 are lecturers or Associate Professors or equivalent and 2 are researchers. 3 were presented by FRs and 17 by UMRs, and, among the 20 successful applications, 4 were also linked to IRLs and 2 to IRNs.

>> ‘POSTES ROUGES 2026’
>> CNRS Mathematics (INSMI) is launching its 2026 call for applications for “Postes rouges”. The call is aimed at welcoming foreign colleagues to France in the units institutionally associated with INSMI (UMRs and labs within Research Federations). Invitations can last 2 to 3 months and benefit from special conditions. They are open to colleagues at all levels of seniority.
>> Note that holders of projects that were not selected in 2025, but who could transfer their visit to 2026, can re-apply.

>> Deadline for sending applications to the UMRs, FRs, IRLs and IRNs : 30 September 2025
